BUNN Axiom display errors, decoded
Applies to: BUNN Axiom series (ICB similar but strings unverified)
What this error means
BUNN's digital office brewers announce faults in documented plain-English strings: 'HEATING TIME TOO LONG' (tank heater, thermistor, or control board — or a water-supply problem), 'FILL TIME TOO LONG' (water shut off, supply line, inlet solenoid), 'TEMP SENSOR OUT OF RANGE' (probe or wiring — service item), and an escalating series of lime warnings from 'CHECK SPRAYHEAD FOR LIME' up to 'WARNING VERY LOW FLOW – PLEASE REPAIR.' Note 'TEMPERATURE TOO LOW' isn't a fault — it's the brew lockout while the tank reheats.
Symptoms
- Error string on the display
- Brew lockout
- Lime warnings appearing
Try this first (safe DIY steps)
- FILL TIME TOO LONG: check the water shutoff valve and supply line first — usually external
- Lime warnings: run the deliming spring procedure (see our weak-coffee guide) and clean the sprayhead before assuming failure
- TEMPERATURE TOO LOW: wait — it's heating
- Log the exact string for the service call if it persists
Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
When to call a technician
HEATING TIME TOO LONG and TEMP SENSOR OUT OF RANGE are meter-and-parts diagnoses — service tech or a confident DIYer with the service manual.
