Autonomous SmartDesk errors and reset

What this error means

SmartDesk frames report E-codes for motor/controller faults (officially documented: E01 overheat — wait 20 minutes, E03 obstacle detected, E04, E12, plus an RST display state). Note: Autonomous's reset differs from most brands — it is NOT the usual hold-Down procedure on most models.

Symptoms

• E-code on keypad
• Desk unresponsive or uneven

Try this first (safe DIY steps)

1. Unplug the desk for 60 seconds (Autonomous's official first step), replug
2. On most models: press and hold UP and DOWN together until the desk lowers fully and beeps — that's the reset (only some models use the hold-Down-with-RST variant)
3. Reseat all cable connections at the control box
4. For E01 (overheat), simply wait 20 minutes

Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
