DIY fix — no technician neededVerified by FixOffice
Poly Studio bar lights, decoded
Applies to: Poly Studio USB bar (R30/P15 similar basics)
What this error means
Poly's documented set for the Studio USB bar: all LEDs solid red = microphone muted; solid amber = standby; chasing white = booting; blinking green or white = incoming call; solid green/white on one or two LEDs = the camera actively tracking the current speaker (that's a feature, not a fault); solid blue = Bluetooth paired (blinking = pairing). Newer models (Studio R30, P15) keep the essentials: red = mute, amber = standby.
Symptoms
- Lights doing something and nobody knows what
- 'They can't hear us' (all-red = muted)
- LEDs following whoever talks (normal — speaker tracking)
Try this first (safe DIY steps)
- All red: unmute — controller, PC, or the bar itself
- Solid amber: it's asleep — start a call or wake via the connected PC
- Chasing white at boot: wait it out
- Tracking lights moving: normal operation, tell the room to relax
Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
When to call a technician
Persistent no-response after power cycle and USB reseat — same USB troubleshooting as any conference camera (see our not-detected guide).
