Kyocera C3300 — Scanner exposure (AGC) error

What this error means
The scanner's light reading failed its auto-gain check — dirty glass/white reference, aging lamp, or scanner unit. Note: this is an exposure error, not the scanner-communication fault people sometimes assume.
Symptoms
- Copies/scans failing, prints fine
- Dark or streaked copies beforehand
Try this first (safe DIY steps)
- Clean the platen glass, scan strip, and visible white reference area
- Power cycle
Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
When to call a technician
Persisting — lamp/scanner unit service with recalibration.
