Fujitsu shows EE:EE — the hidden code retrieval trick
Applies to: Fujitsu Halcyon mini-splits (wired-controller models; newer models use 2-digit codes by generation)
What this error means
EE:EE (or E:EE) on a Fujitsu wired controller isn't the fault — it's the envelope. Press Energy Save + Zone Control together for 3+ seconds and the actual stored code appears. The E-code map: E0:00 remote-to-indoor comm, E1:00 indoor-to-outdoor comm (the most common complaint), E2-E7 and EA-Ed various thermistors, EE:00 high pressure, EF:00 discharge temperature ('short of gas'). On units without wired remotes, the lamps blink the code in counted patterns — but blink tables are series-specific, so match your manual.

Try this first (safe DIY steps)
- Wired controller: hold Energy Save + Zone Control 3+ seconds; write down the revealed code
- E1:00/comm codes: kill power at the breaker 3–5 minutes, restore — clears transient faults
- Thermistor and pressure codes: that's the service call, with the code in hand
- Same combo returns the display to normal
Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
When to call a technician
Everything beyond the breaker reset — refrigerant and board work is EPA-licensed territory.
