HP 58.x — Environmental sensor / power subsystem error

What this error means

Commonly the ambient (environmental) thermistor — NOT the fuser sensor, despite what forums assume (fuser errors are 50.x). Some subcodes on big machines are CPU/power-supply faults. Power cycle, then service.

Symptoms

• Error at power-on
• No pattern with printing activity
