Konica Minolta C02xx — Paper tray lift fault family (C0202, C0204…)

What this error means

A paper tray's lift mechanism didn't raise the paper stack to the feed position — obstruction, overloaded tray, or a worn lift motor/gear.

Symptoms

• One tray always errors while others work
• Grinding from the tray area

Try this first (safe DIY steps)

1. Remove the tray fully; take out excess paper (fill max ~80%)
2. Check for objects fallen into the tray cavity
3. Reinsert firmly until it clicks, power cycle

Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.

When to call a technician

If the same tray recurs — lift motor/gear replacement.
