Toshiba E010/E020 — Exit jams (yours to clear)

What this error means

The friendly code class: E-codes are jams. E010 = paper never reached the exit sensor; E020 = paper stuck at it. Open the exit/fuser area, clear carefully (hot!), resume. No service mode, no drama.

Symptoms

• 'Clear Paper' blinking
• Paper visible at the exit

Try this first (safe DIY steps)

1. Open the exit area/side cover; remove paper in the feed direction
2. Flashlight-check for torn fragments (fuser area is HOT — let it cool)
3. Close up; the machine resumes

Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.

When to call a technician

Frequent exit jams = worn exit rollers — cheap service item.
