Panasonic error codes, explained
Panasonic mini-split systems. Codes below: H/F codes via the remote CHECK button (H11…). Each guide covers what the code means, what you can safely try yourself, when to stop and call a technician, and what the repair typically costs.
Panasonic's hidden self-diagnosis — the remote CHECK button
The best DIY diagnostic in mini-splits, straight from Panasonic: point the wireless remote at the unit, press the recessed CHECK button (~5 seconds, use a pin) until the display shows '--', then step through codes with the TIMER arrows. When the displayed code matches the stored fault, the indoor unit answers with a LONG BEEP. That beep is your diagnosis. Exit by holding CHECK ~25 seconds.
Panasonic H11 — Indoor/outdoor communication error
Panasonic's most common code: the indoor and outdoor units lost contact. Wiring, power to the outdoor unit, or a board. Breaker reset first; recurrence goes to a tech.

The map: H-codes lean sensor/communication — H11 comm (see its guide), H14 indoor intake sensor, H16 low current draw (CT circuit or low refrigerant), H19 indoor fan motor locked (check for obstruction — the one safe DIY), H23 indoor pipe sensor. F-codes lean protection trips: F11 four-way valve (cooling/heating reversed), F90 inverter/PFC protection, F91 refrigeration cycle (the famous 'low gas'), F93 compressor rotation, F95 condenser overheat (dirty outdoor coil — gently cleaning debris off it IS DIY), F96 power module overheat, F97 discharge temp, F98/F99 overcurrent protection.
