UPLIFT Desk 'HOt' / 'HO1' — Duty cycle exceeded (motor overheat protection)
Applies to: UPLIFT V2 / V2-Commercial
What this error means
The motors exceeded their 10% duty cycle (roughly 2 minutes of movement per 18 minutes of rest) and the controller is enforcing a cooldown. Depending on the display it renders as HOt, HO1, or H01. Not a fault — it's the desk protecting its motors.
Symptoms
- HOt/H01 after several consecutive up/down cycles
- Desk refuses to move for several minutes
Try this first (safe DIY steps)
- Wait 20 minutes (UPLIFT's official figure) — it clears itself
- If you hit this regularly, the desk may be overloaded: check total load against the frame rating including monitor arms and cable management
Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
When to call a technician
Only if it appears after minimal movement — that suggests a failing motor drawing excess current.
