Konica Minolta J-codes — The jam map (J11-xx, J32-xx, J66-xx…)

What this error means

Bizhub jam codes are coordinates: the first two digits locate the jam (11 = tray 1, 12–14 = trays 2–4, 15/16 = LCT, 32 = fusing/exit, 66 = document feeder, 72 = finisher, 92/93 = duplex), the suffix describes detection type. The golden suffix: -40 means 'paper detected at power-on' — a leftover scrap or stuck sensor flag, almost always user-clearable. J-1101 (tray 1 misfeed) usually yields to roller cleaning; J-3201 (exit section) to a thorough scrap hunt at the rear.

• J-code with location digits
• -40 suffix after clearing a jam (scrap hunt)
• Same code recurring from one location

Try this first (safe DIY steps)

1. Decode the location from the first two digits and open that area
2. Hunt scraps with a flashlight — especially exit/rear areas for 32-xx
3. J11-xx recurring: clean tray 1's pickup rollers
4. -40 codes: a sensor still sees paper — find the fragment or flick the sensor flags gently

Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.

One location recurring despite clean rollers/paths = clutch or sensor service there.
