Xerox 092-xxx — Toner density (ADC) sensor errors

What this error means

The auto-density-control sensor that reads toner patches is malfunctioning — and Xerox's own documented first remedy is cleaning it: toner dust on the sensor window is the most common cause.

Symptoms

• Print quality drifting before the error
• Color machines after heavy runs

Try this first (safe DIY steps)

1. Power cycle
2. If your model's guide shows the ADC sensor location, clean its window gently per instructions
3. Recurring: service (sensor/board)

Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
