Sibling codes to SC542: SC543 is a fusing overheat detected in software, SC544 the same condition detected at the hardware level, SC545 the fusing lamp staying at full power without the expected temperature rise, and SC546 fusing ready-temperature instability. Same underlying system, same repair path, and the same latching behavior.

Symptoms

• Stops mid-job or during warm-up
• May follow smearing/unfused prints

Try this first (safe DIY steps)

1. One full power cycle (2 minutes off)
2. No further DIY — overheat-class faults shouldn't be repeatedly reset

Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
