Ricoh SC672 — Controller start-up error

What this error means

Communication between the operation panel and the main controller wasn't established at startup (or dropped afterward) — often a transient software hang, occasionally a controller board, harness, or storage fault preventing the controller from booting.

Symptoms

• Panel frozen or blank with SC672
• Appears after a power blip or firmware update

Try this first (safe DIY steps)

1. Power off at the main switch, unplug for 2 minutes, replug and power on
2. If your machine has a secondary/main power switch pair, use the documented full-shutdown sequence
3. Try once more; note whether it happens at every boot or intermittently

Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
