Canon E000 — Fuser temperature failure (no warm-up)
Applies to: imageRUNNER / imageRUNNER ADVANCE series
What this error means
The fixing (fuser) unit did not reach its target temperature during startup. The machine locks itself out to prevent fire risk, and on most imageRUNNER models this error latches until it is cleared in service mode.
Symptoms
- Machine stops during warm-up
- E000 shown immediately after power-on
- Error returns after every restart
Try this first (safe DIY steps)
- Power the machine off at the main switch, wait 60 seconds, and power back on
- Check that the fuser unit is fully seated (open the right/front cover per your model manual)
- If the error persists after two power cycles, stop — repeated resets against a real fuser fault can damage the unit
Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
When to call a technician
If two power cycles don't clear it. The fuser heater, thermistor, or thermal switch usually needs testing or replacement, and the latched error must be reset in service mode.
