Canon E002 — Fuser did not reach standby temperature in time

What this error means

The fuser began heating but rose too slowly, so the machine aborted warm-up. Common causes are a degraded fuser film/heater or low line voltage to the machine.

Symptoms

• Long warm-up followed by the error
• Happens more in cold rooms or on shared circuits

Try this first (safe DIY steps)

1. Confirm the copier is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip or extension cord
2. Power cycle once after 60 seconds

Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.

When to call a technician

If it recurs — the fuser heater assembly is usually at end of life, and the error may need a service-mode reset even after repair.
