Canon E010 — Main motor failure

What this error means

The main drive motor did not reach speed or stalled. Can be caused by a jammed drive train, a failing motor, or an obstruction in the drum/developer drive path.

Symptoms

• Loud click or hum then shutdown
• Error at the moment a job starts

Try this first (safe DIY steps)

1. Check for and remove any jammed paper, including torn fragments deep in the paper path
2. Remove and reseat the toner and drum units, then power cycle

Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.

When to call a technician

If reseating consumables and clearing jams doesn't fix it — motor and drive repairs are not user-serviceable.
