Canon E225 — Scanner lamp light-amount error

What this error means
The scanner's exposure lamp is producing too little light — typically an aging lamp/LED array or a dirty optical path.
Symptoms
- Dark or streaked copies before the error appears
- Scanning fails while printing works
Try this first (safe DIY steps)
- Clean the platen glass and the thin scan strip glass with a lint-free cloth
- Power cycle
Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.
When to call a technician
If cleaning doesn't clear it — lamp or scanner unit replacement.
