Canon E805 — Exhaust fan error

What this error means

A cooling/exhaust fan is not spinning at the expected speed. The machine shuts down to avoid heat damage. Often dust buildup or a failing fan motor.

Symptoms

• Error after the machine has been running a while
• Unusual fan noise or silence from the vents

Try this first (safe DIY steps)

1. Power off, vacuum/dust the visible vents (do not open panels beyond user access)
2. Ensure the machine has clearance from walls per the manual
3. Power cycle

Safety: power off before any physical intervention. Never bypass covers or interlocks — fuser areas run hot enough to burn.

When to call a technician

If it returns — fan replacement is quick for a tech but behind service panels.
